My first month offering Bryght skin lightening services

My first month of offering Bryght has not been what I was expected. In some ways, I had a preconceived notion of who and what services were going to be most popular but after this period I can safely say skin lightening and dealing with hyperpigmentation is a service requested by everyone.

Is it awkward?

I’m not going to lie, I felt SUPER awkward the first time I saw one of my clients was requesting an anal bleaching. Not only is it such an intimate area, I have a hard time holding conversation with clients who are face down on the treatment table. Why? I have no idea. Something about them being faced away from me makes it seem like they don’t really want to interact with me even though they might want the distraction. Also, usually when I perform waxing services, it’s a quick couple rips of wax and we’re done. However, during a Bryght skin lightening treatment, you’re down there for a good 10 to 15 minutes, but it really is as awkward as you make it. I’ve found that after about a month it’s pretty easy to gauge if the client wants to talk or if they want to take a small nap since it’s such a pain free process. Also, it’s not like you need to talk the whole 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes, you only need to do a quick catch up before both you and the client are comfortable and relaxed.

Who gets skin lightening and where?

In this past month I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter where the hyperpigmentation is located on your body, male or female that darkened skin can definitely be a hit to your self-esteem. Don’t get me wrong, I believe everyone should find beauty in themselves and the change their bodies go through as life happens to us. However, there are some skin discolorations that make you more insecure, especially if someone else comments on it. While anal bleaching is by far the most popular skin lightening I’ve done these past few weeks, underarm lightening and inner thigh lightening are the next most popular. These three services have been requested by both male and female clients with no regard to age, race, or occupation. It just goes to show that certain areas can make anyone feel insecure.
